When I think about walking, I don’t think about exercise. I think about my father – By Patrice – Luxembourg 🇱🇺

When I think about walking, I don’t think about exercise.

I think about my father.

Like many parents, he worked hard and carried the weight of everyday responsibilities. But from time to time, we would head into the mountains together for a hike.

Something different happened there.

Away from the television, the schedules and the distractions of daily life, we talked. About school. About dreams. About fears. About life. Conversations we rarely seemed to have anywhere else.

At the time, I didn’t realize how precious those moments were. Looking back, they became some of the most meaningful memories I have of our relationship.

That’s why I believe so strongly in walking together.

When people walk side by side, something changes. We slow down. We relax. We listen differently. Conversations become easier, deeper, more human.

At WAT, we simply create the conditions for those conversations to happen.
