Discovering Common Ground – By Ijaz – Islamabad, Pakistan 🇵🇰
The participants came from very different worlds: students, teachers, community volunteers…
On the a trail in the outskirts of Islamabad, they walked together under a shared theme: Let’s observe the contrast of the urban and natural landscapes. What does it say about where and how we live?
At first the conversations were cautious. People were more silent, enjoying the moment. Then, walking side by side, people started to share their reflections. Memories of childhood in the countryside. Desire for more connection with nature in daily life. Dreams for the future.
By the end of the walk, many were surprised by what they had discovered: despite their differences, they shared far more than they imagined.
Walking together had turned strangers into a collective, if only for a day.
